60 Minutes
CBS's show "60 Minutes" will air on sunday (6:00 pm eastern) a segment
about ethanol. The details are vague of what is to be discussed. Some
people believe the segment will focus on the future of E85, some
believe the segment will focus on big ethanol players such as ADM and
PIEX. This can be either good or bad for this industry, as CBS news
program's have a reputation for exposing corruption and malfeasance.
Larry Meints, one of the interviewees, when talking about the segment
airing nationally said "I'm still a little apprehensive, but excited, I feel good. It was a positive interview and he didn't try to trick us or anything. We're
hoping it will spur sales ... and convince people ethanol is a good
product.' It will be interesting what side CBS positions themselves, if
they are pro-ethanol a rise in ethanol stocks will be expected. This
just makes this industry that much more volatile as more speculation
will be built up. I will definetely be watching this!
I will definetely be watching this too. Hopefully it will mainly focus on ethanol's major players, with optimism though. Your right, all this speculation is driving me nuts! But im enjoying the ride. Keep up the good work.
